The Problem:
As seniors age, they are confronted with care needs that challenge their independence and lifestyle choices. In many instances, they are unable to participate in the search and decision about their quality eldercare options. They often need to rely on loved ones to provide guidance and support. However, families are often overwhelmed with the choices and care options that are available.
We can help guide you through the confusing maze of care options that are available, and help determine a personalized eldercare solution for your loved one.
Age & Dignity Consulting, LLC is committed not only to find a personalized and appropriate eldercare solution for your loved one but also to respect and consider their dignity as well.
The Process for Help:
1. Consultation—we can discuss your situation either with a no-cost phone consultation, or an in-person consultation for more complex situations. For an in-person consultation, our one-time fee is $200.00. With both options, we schedule phone and email follow-up until there is a good resolution to the situation. If there appears a need to move into a long-term care community, we will facilitate tours and help the caregiver determine the best options. We receive a broker’s fee from the chosen community if a move-in occurs.
2. Assessment—we complete an assessment of your loved one’s situation. The assessment will include a health review, home assessment, and lifestyle determination.
3. Guidance and Education—we review local senior resources and educate you about the various eldercare choices that are available for your situation. We provide information about the cost and funding of care and if applicable, give you an overview of the Veteran’s Aid and Attendance benefit.
If it is determined that a move to a senior community is the most appropriate option, we can educate you on varied senior housing options in Western Pennsylvania along with their levels of care.
4. Decisions—we will provide you with options, but realize that decisions about care can be painful and difficult. You may struggle with respecting the wishes of your loved one but at the same time realize that this desire may be unrealistic—and unsafe—for the situation. The senior may need 24/7 supervision, a secure environment, or the oversight of a skilled nursing staff.
We understand that many seniors desire to remain in their homes, even as their care needs increase. Our consultants are sensitive to this type of situation, and will work with you and other professionals to help determine the best course of action—and approach—for your loved one.
